Summary
We are looking for a Secondary School Humanities Tutor to deliver high-quality humanities education to our students. If you are passionate about teaching subjects such as Social Studies, History, Geography, or Literature, and take pride in delivering engaging, discussion-driven lessons, we’d love to hear from you!
We welcome tutors who enjoy crafting meaningful learning experiences, sparking curiosity, and using innovative teaching methods.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson materials and resources tailored for humanities subjects to ensure effective teaching delivery.
- Plan and conduct weekly group classes with a focus on engaging, inquiry-based, and discussion-driven instruction.
- Address academic queries, assist with student registrations, and coordinate make-up classes to support consistent learning progress.
- Conduct student consultations outside of class time to clarify content, essay structures, case studies, and source-based questions.
- Participate actively in company and department meetings, contributing ideas and feedback to improve humanities curricula and classroom experience.
- Organise and support events such as open houses, crash courses, and humanities revision workshops aimed at student outreach and lead conversion.
Requirements
- A degree is preferred but not required; candidates with strong subject knowledge or relevant teaching experience are encouraged to apply.
- 1–2 years of relevant teaching experience in Secondary Humanities (SS, History, Geography, or Literature) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the O-Level Humanities syllabi, including SBQ/SEQ answering techniques.
- Proficient in creating and delivering humanities-based educational materials (notes, worksheets, source analysis activities, essays).
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; able to simplify complex humanities content for students.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Available to teach on weekdays and weekends.
